'His Legacy is Massive: Chelsea Boss Mauricio Pochettino Lauds Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp
Pochettino admitted that he was initially awestruck and taken aback by the decision, but emphasised that Klopp had given it his all at Liverpool and that he deserves to take his time away from the sport.

The footballing world has still not come to terms with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s recent decision to step down and take his time away from football. But, the love, respect, and admiration continue to pour from all facets of the game, from fans to players to even rival coaches.

In the most recent happening, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino took to the media to share his thoughts on the entire situation and share his warmest compliments to the German.

Pochettino admitted that he was initially awestruck and taken aback by the decision, but emphasised that Klopp had given it his all at Liverpool and that he deserves to take his time away from the sport.

“I was in shock. Today, I was working and received the news. It is really sad. We already missed him,” stated Pochettino.

“When I was sacked from Tottenham, the first message I received was from him. The job he has done with Liverpool is amazing. He wishes to rest and go away for a little bit. I think he deserves but it is sad for people who love football. He is a great character and Liverpool and English football will miss him.

Pochettino then recalled the first instance when the two managers clashed heads, back when Pochettino was still with Tottenham Hotspur, and stated that the legacy that Klopp leaves behind is massive.

“When he arrived, his first game was against us at White Hart Lane. We drew 0-0. His legacy is massive. I congratulate him and his coaching staff. He deserves the praise he will receive from now until the end of the season,” added Pochettino.

The news of Klopp’s decision, which was released yesterday, came after eight-and-a-half outstandingly successful years at the helm. But, with Liverpool still in contention for multiple trophies this season, Klopp wishes for the team to rally together and finish the season strong.

But in the midst of it all, the pressing question arose: who will replace the German?

Whoever steps in will have the unenviable task of trying to keep the Reds in the hunt for major honours, with Klopp having been a transformative presence since he was hired at Anfield back in 2015, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League during an incredible decade of success for the club.
