As per media reports, the posts of clerk, cashier, junior branch manager, and class IV are vacant in banks. There has been a shortage of employees in many district cooperative banks.

As 2023 draws to a close, it has been a year of significant job opportunities for the nation’s unemployed youth, with numerous government companies and banks, such as NABARD and BHEL, issuing recruitment notifications for various positions. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently initiated a recruitment drive for the posts of Inspector and Sub-Inspectors, adding to the array of job openings.

Anticipating a substantial surge in recruitment, the cooperative departments and institutions are expected to play a pivotal role in providing job opportunities in the upcoming year. The government is set to release recruitment notifications once the total number of vacancies is determined. Presently, an estimated 5,000 positions remain vacant in the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank, with an additional 50 posts each in District Cooperative Banks and the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Rural Development Bank. Further, around 20,000 personnel are projected to be recruited in Primary Agricultural Credit Societies.

Media reports indicate that vacancies for roles such as clerk, cashier, junior branch manager, and class IV positions exist in banks. Several district cooperative banks are facing a shortage of employees, leading to reduced operational days. Responding to the workforce deficit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting with departmental ministers and principal secretaries. It is widely speculated that he has instructed them to initiate recruitment processes for the vacant positions in cooperative institutions, a move expected to commence shortly.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to filling these vacancies, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Co-operation, Jayant Pratap Singh Rathore, revealed that recruitment for cooperative institutions or banks will be facilitated through the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

Meanwhile, the recruitment process for Tamil Nadu Cooperative Banks is already underway. The notification announced a total of 2,345 vacancies for positions such as Clerk, Assistant, Junior Assistant, and Cashier. The selection process involves a written examination and an interview.

The written examination took place on December 24, with the government yet to announce the result date. These vacancies are spread across 38 Cooperative Societies in Tamil Nadu, falling under the TN Cooperative Bank Recruitment 2023, and successful candidates will progress to the interview stage.
