Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s last release, Animal, caused quite a stir upon its initial release on December 1. Now, with its OTT debut, the film is once again in the spotlight, generating controversy and fresh debates. The star studded cast, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and others, received praise for their performances. Meanwhile, Ranbir, alongside Anil and Bobby, recently came together for an interview as part of the OTT release on Netflix. As fans eagerly await for the sequel, titled Animal Park, Ranbir shared exciting updates during a conversation with actor and stand up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India. He revealed some intriguing scenes from the upcoming part, which he claims are exciting. Ranbir also revealed that not everyone on the team was aware of the complete story
The Rockstar actor said, “Bobby sir had no idea about the story. Anil sir knew the father-son story. Animal pehle part mein, only few people knew the story, there were a lot of aspects, where Sandeep is very secretive about his script. Talking about Animal Park, he has one or two scenes ready, which are very exciting, but now because of the success of part one, I think he has the confidence and courage to go even darker, darker and complex. He can do anything."
When the movie was released, it received backlash from a segment of audience, particularly for allegedly highlighting toxic masculinity. Addressing this, Ranbir Kapoor expressed his perspective on the matter. He acknowledged that cinema plays a crucial role in starting discussions and creating awareness. Ranbir believes that if something is wrong and not shown in films, there won’t be a chance for society to recognise and rectify it. The actor further stressed about the role of actors in understanding their roles, while as an audience, individuals have the power to decide what is right or wrong.
Bobby Deol added, “Storytelling is the reflection of society. I mean it’s showing you what’s happening in the society and there’s so many things we don’t want to talk about but we are actors and we’re just getting an opportunity to play different characters. That’s the fun of being an actor."
Ranbir Kapoor’s film was released on December 1, facing competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Despite the clash, the movie performed well at the box office. Meanwhile, the film marked the first collaboration between Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
