Animal: Sandeep Reddy Vanga Makes SHOCKING Statement About Indian Audience, Says 'There Is Too Much Wokeness'
Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about the perception of the Indian audience towards movies and cinema.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal is one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as the lead, the film was released earlier this month and proved to be a mammoth at the box office. After a superhit theatrical run, the film is about to be released on Netflix. Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently opened up about the critics of Animal and also shared his views on cine-goers of Mumbai.

During an interaction with Komal Nahta, Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed the concerns of people around Animal and whether it could influence people negatively. He stated, “You are right, a film is not a temple of learning. When they don’t learn in school or from there parents then how will a film teach them? I forgot this and thought that maybe it’s okay to judge a film, but this statement reminded me that it’s wrong. There is a saying that, ‘if one says a lie many times, it appears to be the truth’ that is what is happening in Mumbai and the whole country. There is too much wokeness. People are getting hyper sensitive. I don’t know why they are so sensitive towards films, they don’t have this reaction in any other department.”

He also reflected on his writing style as compared to other writers, “When somebody tells me that my film is very dark then I compare it with the world cinema. In comparison, I feel I am average. I want to reach there…the public can reach there but the critics can’t reach there. I make my films for the public but suppose Animal box office run was stopped at Rs 250 crore or Rs 350 crore, the perception created by the critics… this film would have been declared a flop. My force against critics is such that they couldn’t stand but if this velocity was less, people would have thought critics were right,” he explained.

Speaking about film critics, Sandeep Reddy Vanga quipped,”Critics can even kill a simple, average film. I am saying this from day one. By God’s grace and my hard work, all my three films are blockbusters and if somebody would have made an average film… for instance if a film is made on a budget of Rs 100 crore and has earned Rs 140 crore, it’s a hit, but if reviews are negative it’s a flop. So, that’s my fear, they can hamper a film, they think they aren’t but they are. What they like, they like. Their capacity to think in medium meter is not there.”

Animal has emerged as Ranbir’s biggest film of his career. The film has collected over Rs 500 crore in India.
