Vadakkupatti Ramasamy Review: Fans Praise Santhanam For His Comic Timing
Karthik Yogi has written and directed Vadakkupatti Ramasamy while People Media Factory has produced it.

Santhanam is one of the prominent actors in Tamil cinema. His film Vadakkupatti Ramasamy was released at the cinema halls globally on Friday. News 18 Tamil interacted with his fans at the Vijaya Theatre A/C located in Mayiladuthurai to learn about their reaction regarding the film.

Fans have loved Vadakkupatti Ramasamy and said that the film is a nice combination of comedy and the faith people have in God. Santhanam’s fans also appreciated his acting and comic timing in the film. They also applauded Nizhalgal Ravi and Motta Rajendran’s comedy skills. Megha Akash, MS Bhaskar, John Vijay, Cool Suresh, Tamizh, and others have also acted in this movie. Karthik Yogi has written and directed this movie while People Media Factory has produced it.

Vadakkupatti Ramasamy had courted controversy before its release at the cinema halls. The film’s trailer was embroiled in controversy over the lead character’s comments on the non-existence of God. This caused a major issue and led to protests before the release of the movie. Some of the cinemagoers also took offence over a dialogue criticising the Dravidian ideologue Erode Venkatappa Ramasamy. Santhanam had to step in to issue a clarification regarding this during the film’s music launch. Santhanam said that there is nothing controversial in Vadakkupatti Ramasamy and its only purpose is to entertain fans with humorous content.

Santhanam also revealed that he will again act in a film directed by Karthik Yogi. He heard some people addressing Karthik Yogi as Yogi and requested them to take the full name of the director. Santhanam said that there is already a controversy and he does not wish another one to happen.

Santhanam has primarily shined in his career as a comedian, but he is no longer interested in doing these roles. He had a conversation with The Times of India regarding this issue. When asked whether he misses being a comedian, Santhanam said, “Not really, and that’s mainly because the roles that I’ve chosen as a hero are also comic ones. I have not tried to play an action hero or a mass hero. I am doing these happy-go-lucky types who are fun to be around. At the same time, I am also dancing and fighting to ensure that there are other flavours to this comic persona.”
