Khan Special: Brother Sarfaraz and Musheer Sparkle With Centuries for India Teams on Same Day
It was indeed a special day for the Khan family as Under-19 star Musheer and his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan, who is a big name in India's domestic circuit, scored centuries on Thursday while batting in different places.

Young India batter Musheer Khan grabbed attention with a fine century in the Under-19 World Cup match against Ireland on Thursday. The talented young batter showcased his talent on the big stage to get noticed in the cricketing world. Meanwhile, it was indeed a special day for the Khan family as both Musheer and his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan, who is a big name in India’s domestic circuit, scored centuries on Thursday while batting in different places.

Musheer scored 118 runs from 108 balls which was laced with 9 fours and 4 sixes to help India post a challenging 301/7 in the Under-19 World Cup match at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. On the other hand, Sarfaraz scored 161 runs off 160 balls for India A in the second unofficial Test against England Lions at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Mumbaikar hit 18 fours and 5 sixes as the hosts posted 489 while batting first.

Musheer took only 34 balls to race to 100 from 50, having scored the first 50 runs off 66 balls. Along with skipper Uday Saharan (75 off 84 balls), Musheer added 156 as the young Indian batters gave a good account of themselves albeit against a weaker bowling attack.

In the end, Sachin Dhas, perhaps the most exciting talent in the U-19 set-up, smashed 21 off 9 balls to take India past the 300-run mark, which is the highest score in a U-19 international at this ground.

India scored 119 runs in the last 10 overs.

However, the Indian innings was about Musheer’s brilliant game awareness as he took his time before unleashing a brutal assault on the Irish bowlers.

Very strong on the on-side, all his maximums came in the region between square leg, deep mid-wicket and long-on.

He treated opposition’s best pacer Oliver Riley (3/55) with disdain, hitting him for two sixes.

Saharan, who played the second fiddle to Adarsh Singh in the opening game, was once again brilliant as an anchor, rotating the strike well and letting Musheer play his natural attacking game.

Earlier, Ireland won the toss and opted to field against defending champions India.

India made one change, while Ireland effected three changes to the playing XI.

India won their tournament opener against Bangladesh by 84 runs.
