Selena Gomez Slammed For Quick Return To Instagram After Social Media Break
The now-disappeared pictures showed Selena Gomez in the kitchen of Moo's Craft Barbecue — an eatery in Texas. The picture was taken from her cookery show Selena + Chef.

Following the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine, Selena Gomez took a social media hiatus claiming that it “breaks her heart” to watch the horror and violence in the world. But defying her decision, the singer recently made a return to Instagram. She dropped a couple of pictures on her stories from her cookery show Selena + Chef. Selena’s sudden departure from social media and her abrupt return days after did not sit well with the masses. She has earned the ire of the internet population, who questioned the sincerity behind her social media break, calling out the singer’s whimsical behaviour.

The now-disappeared pictures showed Selena Gomez in the kitchen of Moo’s Craft Barbecue — an eatery in Texas, Los Angeles that specialises in “BBQ & Craft Beers”. In the first photo, Selena wore a black apron over her dress. She struck a pose by placing her hand on a wooden chopping board. Knives, a measuring cup, and a weighing scale were displayed on the kitchen counter. Graffiti art could also be spotted painted on the walls. The second snap featured Selena smiling for the click while holding a tray in her hands. An array of food items were kept on it. Restaurant owners — Michelle and Andrew Munoz shared the same frame with her.

Soon after the pictures surfaced on the internet, social media users slammed the Single Soon singer for her words not matching her actions. Taking a sly dig at her, one X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote, “Wasn’t she deleting ig? Guess when she needs to promote things it’s a great place to use her platform.” “It’s absolutely shameful that Selena Gomez lied about going on a social media break so that she could continue to promote her business endeavours but not take a minute to speak out for the 12,000+ dead in Gaza,” slammed another. “Selena Gomez: ‘I’m taking a break from Instagram. I’m done.’ Selena Gomez not even a week later.” pointed out a third individual.

Earlier, announcing her departure from social media, Selena Gomez penned a heart-wrenching note, an excerpt of which read, “I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t”.

Celebrities who have pledged to support Israel include Gal Gadot, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady, and Gwyneth Paltrow among others.
