In Pics: Ather CEO Drops Rizta Seat Size Comparison Teaser With Honda Activa

Ather Energy, a Bangalore-based electric scooter manufacturer, is impending launch of its new family scooter, the Rizta.

The scooter was recently spotted during testing, adorned with a captivating wrap featuring an animated family portrait, sparking curiosity.

CEO Tarun Mehta added fuel to the anticipation when he took to X handle (formerly Twitter) to share a comparison of the Rizta’s seat with competitors, specifically the Ola S1 Pro and Honda Activa 6G. Mehta asserted that the Rizta would boast the most extensive seat in the scooter market.

In the shared images, the Rizta’s seat is positioned side by side with the Ola S1 Pro, displaying a notable increase in length and width, particularly at the rear.

Another comparison, this time with what appears to be the Honda Activa 6G’s seat, reinforces Rizta’s claim to having the largest seat in the market.

The Ather Rizta, featuring a boxy design reminiscent of the TVS iQube, is not just about the spacious seat. The scooter will also include large grab handles, and a generously sized floorboard. It is furthermore expected to come with the same wheels as the 450X, potentially offering a foldable pillion footrest, as reported by Rushlane.

The Rizta is projected to match the Ather 450S’s 2.9kWh battery and a certified range of 115 km, with the possibility of a longer-range option in the future.

In terms of design, the Rizta adopts a more straightforward approach compared to the Ather 450 lineup, with minimal cuts on its side panel.

The scooter will feature a wide and flat floorboard, a handlebar at a comfortable height, grab handles towards the rear, a foldable pillion footrest, mudguards on both sides, premium mirror stalks, and LED headlamps integrated horizontally into the front panel.

Expect added under-seat storage, potentially a 22-litre capacity, and the possibility of a 7.0-inch DeepView LCD instrumentation.

While specific battery details and performance specifications are yet to be disclosed, Ather enthusiasts can anticipate the Rizta to push boundaries in terms of range and performance.

The scooter is set to launch in June 2024 during Ather Community Day, with further details and pricing announcements closer to the date.

Early estimates suggest the pricing of the Rizta to be above the Ather 450 S, positioning it in a sub-Rs 1,30,000 bracket to compete with the likes of TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
