Gadar 3 CONFIRMED: Sunny Deol Signs Film, To Return as Tara Singh But There's a Catch
Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma will reunite for Gadar 3. However, it will not be anytime this year.

Gadar 3 is officially happening! The news was confirmed by director Anil Sharma. The news about the third film in the franchise comes months after Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 created history at the box office. The film has received a lot of love from fans and critics and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. Given both the Gadar films were massive hits, Sunny and Anil have agreed to reunite for a third film. However, there is a catch — it won’t be anytime this year.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Zee Studios has greenlit Gadar 3, and the first round of paperwork has already been executed. “Yes, Tara Singh will be back, as we have locked in the basic idea of Gadar 3. I am presently shooting with Utkarsh and Nana Patekar for my next directorial journey and will start working on the Gadar 3 script very soon,” filmmaker Anil Sharma shared with the portal.

A source close to the development added, “Gadar 2 ended with a promise of Gadar 3, and that wasn’t an announcement made for the sake of grabbing eyeballs. Ever since the release of the film, Anil Sharma and his team of writers have been brainstorming ideas for the third part of Gadar, and they have finally locked down the basic idea for the third installment. Much like the world of the franchise, this one too will be set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak conflict; however, the stakes this time will be higher than ever before.”

Reportedly, a lot of writing will be taking place to ‘develop the idea’. “The team has got the direction of where the story of Tara Singh, Sakina, and Jeete heads from here on,” the source concluded. The report also stated that if everything goes as planned, Gadar 3 could go on floors by the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, Sunny is currently gearing up for the shoot for Lahore: 1947 in February.
