Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and other Indian players animatedly celebrated the wicket as the more than 1 lakh fans cheered loudly after Smith's dismissal.

Jasprit Bumrah produced a peach of a delivery to get the big wicket of premier Australia batter Steve Smith in the final of the 2023 Cricket World Cup at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Smith, who is going through a rough patch, failed to contribute with the bat on a big occasion and was dismissed for just 4.

It was the last ball of the 7th over and Bumrah bowled a slower delivery which swung back in a bit and hit the pads of Smith. The umpire gave it out and Smith decided not to take the review which cost him big as the replay suggested that the impact was outside off-stump.
