Renault Group, the French automaker has unveiled its brand new logo incorporated in the Renault 5 EV Prototype. The new diamond shaped logo reveals the brand’s futuristic electric approach as automakers embrace EV revolution. While the logo has been changed to make it look more modern, it’s essentially the Diamond shape, which has been in use since 1925. Louis Renault, founder of Renault became fixated with the Diamond design and since then, the Renault diamond has been redesigned no less than eight time. This is the ninth version of the logo.
“A balance between recognition of the brand’s heritage and entering a new era, symbol of the future", explains Gilles Vidal. In tune with the times and resolutely modern, the restyled diamond focuses on ‘New Wave’ era that Renault has entered.
The logo was unveiled during the presentation of the Renaulution strategic plan and has been unveiled integrated on the grille of the Renault 5 EV Prototype. The design is simple, not 3D or multilayered and has a flat treatment. This new logo will be gradually applied to Renault vehicles starting 2022, when the first production car will be rolled-out wearing the new Logo.
“By 2024, the entire Renault range will carry this new emblem," said Gilles Vidal. “We have integrated it on the Renault 5 Prototype for the first time. It was for us a formidable testing ground. In view of the enthusiasm and the very positive feedback we received about the logo, we decided to launch it," he added.
