Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has turned out to be one of the best selling cars in India this year, so much that it made it to the top 10 selling passenger vehicles in India within three months by May 2016.
Statistics suggest that Maruti have received more than 1.72 lakh bookings for the Vitara Brezza since its launch in March 2016.
However, with growing demand and Maruti facing a crunch in production, wait time for delivery of the car has significantly increased. depending upon the variant you choose, there is currently a wait time from six to 10 months.
A total of 60,000 units were sold until October 2016, which only accounts for 40% of the total bookings received by Maruti. Maruti are now bust optimising the production line so as to deliver the cars within the promised time frame. Furthermore, another manufacturing plant in Gujarat will ease out the pressure.
The Vitara Brezza has attracted a lot of liking for it masculine appeal and a host of features. It has a chunky bumper with large air intakes flanked by fog lamps and LED guide lights and black underbody plastic cladding.
The new floating roof design and the 16-inch alloy wheels - available in top-end variants - further add to car's styling. At the rear there's wraparound tail-lamps, chunky chrome unit on the tailgate and a meaty bumper.
It is powered by a sole 1.3-litre DDIS engine that churns 89 bhp and develops 200Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, however Maruti have been working on an AMT variant which will come to India soon.
