The Porsche Cayman GTS and Boxter GTS are available across all Porsche showrooms in India.

The finest from Stuttgart are here to grace our land. Porsche India has just launched the much awaited GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) versions of its iconic sportscars, the Cayman and the Boxster.

Priced at Rs 1.175 crore and Rs 1.15 crore ex-Delhi respectively, the new GTS cars are aimed at enthusiasts who are looking for more power and sportiness.

Porsche had introduced the GTS series of cars way back in 1963 with the launch of the Porsche 904 GTS.

Porsche Cayman GTS

The Porsche Cayman GTS will feature a 3.4-litre flat-six engine with direct fuel injection that produces 340PS, a full 15PS more than the Cayman S, says Porsche. All that power is channeled to the rear wheels via a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed PDK transmission.

Wonder what advantage the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) box presents? How about a 0-100kmph time that, at 4.6 seconds, is faster than what the manual version manages.

The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche's electronic damping control system, comes as standard. The Porsche Cayman GTS sits 10mm lower than the Porsche Cayman S. In addition, the Cayman GTS also features the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) system with rear differential lock.

The system bestows the Cayman GTS with greater cornering agility, by applying the brake on the inside rear wheel when charging hard into a corner, ensuring that the car stays true to the line. Meanwhile, at the exit of the corner, the rear differential lock helps increase traction and hence keeps the car planted, says Porsche.

The Porsche Sports Chrono Package is also standard on the Cayman GTS and apart from that gorgeous clock in the centre of the dashboard, it also features a Sport Plus button that stiffens the suspension and steering to enhance the purity of the drive, says Porsche. Dynamic gearbox mounts reduce vibrations of the drivetrain and the engine, thus providing a sporty yet comfortable drive.

The interior is quintessentially Porsche and is finished in a mix of leather and Alcantara inserts on the seats and dashboard. Carbon-fibre inlays are present on the dashboard and the centre console.

Porsche Boxster GTS

Porsche's Boxster series of cars have alway stood out as cars with good handling and the GTS simply ups the ante, says Porsche. The Boxter sports a 3.4-litre Boxer engine that produces 330PS and propels the car to a top speed of 279kmph. That is 15kmph faster than the Boxter S.

The Porsche Boxster also comes with a 6-speed manual transmission with the PDK box as an option. PASM, PTV and the Sport Chrono package are also present.
