British luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce has officially unveiled its third ultra-luxury roadster, the Rolls-Royce Droptail Arcadia.

This follows the previous two unveils in 2023, making it part of a series of four planned bespoke commissions for this opulent, ultra-exclusive roadster. Rolls-Royce’s latest creation ‘Arcadia’ is derived from Greek mythology, representing a heavenly or idyllic place on earth.

The design is said to be a homage to worldwide heritage, drawing inspiration from various countries’ traditional architectural aesthetics. Unlike the previous Droptail models, it features a soft and almost organic design while remaining unmistakably Rolls Royce, known for its bespoke craftsmanship and pushing the boundaries of automotive design.

The Droptail Arcadia boasts Rolls-Royce’s intricate coachbuilding at its finest and features a combination of bespoke touches tailored according to the client’s taste and personality. The buyer of this vehicle envisioned it as a tranquil sanctuary, offering a peaceful retreat after a tiresome day of business dealings.

Shifting the gear to the exterior features of the Arcadia that make it stand out is its unique white colour, infused with aluminium and glass particles, creating a pearlescent effect in the light that will set it apart from the previous models. Unlike other Droptail commissions, the carbon-fibre elements on this model are coated in a custom silver hue. The rear decklid boasts a curved, wood-covered panel, adding to the car’s sophisticated aesthetic.

Step inside the Arcadia, and you’ll be greeted by a cabin dominated by a white shade similar to the exterior, with a contrasting tan colour used for the seats’ outer portions and headrests. Wood trim is used to adorn the dashboard, door panels, and the curved section behind the chairs, highlighting Rolls-Royce’s craftsmanship and creating a link to luxury yachts. It took the company more than 8,000 hours to craft the various wood pieces in the cabin.

One of the most striking features of the Arcadia is the dashboard clock, which took the Rolls-Royce coachbuilding team nearly two years to design and five months to assemble. The clock’s machined face has 119 facets, and the British carmaker’s double-R logo is machined from billet stainless steel. Moreover, the hour markers are hand-painted, which requires a magnifying camera for precise application.

While Rolls-Royce does not emphasise the powertrain of the Droptail Arcadia, it is powered by the powerful twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine found in other Rolls-Royce’s models. Producing 593 bhp and 841 Nm of torque, this beast on wheels ensures an exceptional, smooth, and luxurious driving experience.

It is worth mentioning that the third ultra-luxury roadster of Rolls-Royce, Droptail Arcadia has already been delivered to its Singapore owner, who specified left-hand drive for ease of use around the world, despite the fact that right-hand drive is more popular in the country.
