Bengaluru-based 22-year-old Tanvi (name changed) was in for the shock of her life when she opened her partner’s phone gallery and found around 13,000 nude photos of various women, including herself.
Tanvi met 25-year-old Adithya Santosh five months ago after he joined the BPO company she worked at. They have been in a relationship for the past four months, according to a report by Times of India.
Tanvi reportedly opened Santosh’s phone without his knowledge to delete some of their intimate moments that the latter recorded.
Disturbed by the discovery, she promptly severed ties with Santosh and reported the matter to their office seniors on November 20 to save her other colleagues from any trouble in the future. Among 13,000 nude pictures on Santosh’s phone, some were of their women colleagues as well.
As per the report, Tanvi suspected many of the photos were morphed.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Archana (name changed), the Bellandur-based BPO company filed a formal complaint against Santosh at the Cyber Crime police station on November 23.
“It could have impacted several other women. Though he hadn’t done any harm to other women in the office, his intention was not known to anyone. If the photos were leaked it would have put them under trauma. We wanted to tell police that it is a potential issue.” TOI report cited company’s spokesperson as saying.
The company further clarified that Santosh had not used any of the firm’s devices to morph the photographs.
Meanwhile, police have filed a case against Santosh and arrested him from his office. However, police said it needs more time to uncover Santosh’s motive behind storing these images
“A few of them are morphed and a few are real. We are also verifying if he had blackmailed any woman using them. His chat history and phone calls are also under verification,” an officer told TOI.
