Afghanistan team’s supporters were jubilant with this win, including internet sensation Wazhma Ayoubi. Wazhma expressed his happiness for his home country’s victory by posting a video on Instagram. It went viral, and since then she made news as the ‘mystery fan’ of Afghanistan’s cricket team. Wazhma looks beautiful in a traditional outfit of Afghanistan and also drapes herself with the National Flag of her country. A song, said to be one of the folk songs of Afghanistan, is playing in the background of the clip. She wrote in the caption, “Afghanistan defeats the current world champions by 69 runs. Congratulations to all of Afghanistan. Finally, we achieved our first World Cup win after a long wait. Well done. A big thank you to all our Indian brothers and sisters cheering for Afghanistan today, Dhanyavaad.” Wazhma is one of the staunch supporters of Virat Kohli.

Wazhma has also received praise for appreciating India, even when her home country lost the second ODI World Cup Match to the men in blue. She wrote a Twitter post and admired team India’s impressive victory against Afghanistan. She called both India and Afghanistan teams her favourite and also wrote that there were a few noteworthy moments during the match. According to Wazhma, she was truly touched to see Indian fans wholeheartedly cheering for Afghan batsmen. She was happy that this happened despite the small number of Afghans present in the stadium. Wazhma wrote that this display of friendship between the two countries is heartwarming. She ended the note by writing that the interaction between Virat Kohli and Afghanistan pacer Naveen Ul Haq was nothing short of regal. “Their gestures exemplified the true spirit of sportsmanship”, she ended the post with these words.

The reference between Virat and Naveen dates back to June when both players got involved in an on-field altercation during an IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.
