Actor-Politician Karunas Reveals Reason For His Wife Grace's Distinct Haircut

Karunanidhi Sethu, popularly known as Karunas, is a versatile personality who transitioned from an actor to a politician, gaining recognition for his comedic roles in numerous Tamil films. While often seen in supporting roles, he has also taken on lead roles in movies like Dindigul Sarathy and Ambasamudram Ambani. Karunas is married to the accomplished playback singer Grace, who has lent her voice to songs in films featuring her husband. Recently, Karunas disclosed a significant revelation about his wife.

Grace Karunas is distinguished by her charming personality and distinctive boy-cut hairstyle, which has become integral to her identity. Addressing the curiosity surrounding his wife’s hairstyle, Karunas unveiled the reason behind it. He shared, “My wife, Grace, had long hair before marriage. But I cut it off. This is why she can be seen in a boy-cut hairstyle.” According to Karunas, the boy-cut hairstyle imparts boldness and self-confidence to women, offering insight into why he decided to chop off her hair.

Discussing Grace Karunas’ professional journey, she started her singing career at the tender age of five at the church. While in college, actor Karunas noticed her during an inter-collegiate competition where he served as a judge. Impressed by her talent, Karunas offered Grace to perform songs in his independent albums. This collaboration eventually blossomed into love, leading to their marital union.

Grace Karunas’ foray into the film industry began with the song Cheena Thaana Doi in the movie Vasool Raja MBBS (2004), starring Kamal Haasan. The opportunity arose after Karunas recommended her to the film’s director Saran and music composer Bharadwaj. This marked the beginning of her popularity, with subsequent hits like Velaku Onnu Thiriya Paakudhu from Devathaiyai Kanden and Alappuzha Ammani Allo from Karka Kasadara. The singer-actress and Karunas are proud parents of a son named Ken, who has ventured into acting and made his debut in the Tamil movie Azhagu Kutti Chellam.
