Leo 7 am Shows CANCELLED After Vijay Fans Badly Damaged Chennai's Iconic Theatre

A day ahead of the Leo release, Thalapathy Vijay starrer has landed in another big trouble. On Wednesday, film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to his X handle and revealed that the Tamil Nadu government has refused to allow 4 am or 7 am shows for the much-awaited film. Not just this, the state government has also asked theatre owners to ban teaser or trailer celebrations inside movie halls. The decision came after Vijay’s fans vandalised Rohini Hall in Chennai during Leo trailer screening earlier this month.

“Tamil Nadu government REFUSES to accept Madras High Court’s reconsideration on #Leo 7 am shows. Hence it is CLEAR now that there is no 4 am or 7 am shows for #LokeshKanagaraj’s #LeoFilm. As stated in earlier GO, Joseph Vijay’s #LEOFDFS will start only at 9 am,” the trade analyst wrote.

Earlier this month, the Tamil Nadu government issued an order imposing certain conditions for the screening of Leo in theatres. As per this order, Vijay’s movie will not have an early morning show. While the first show will begin at 9 am, it can go on till 1:30 am. On the other hand, Kerala and Karnataka have early morning shows for Leo.

The makers of the film challenged this in the Madras High Court following which the court left the matter in the hands of the Tamil Nadu government and asked if they would like to reconsider the earliest show timing to be 7 am. However, it has clearly been refused by the state government.

Leo is an action thriller which also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. The film also features Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy co-wrote the script with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and its cinematography and editing have been handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj, respectively.

Leo will hit theatres in India on October 19.
