'A Child of the Wind': Mayank Yadav Breaks His Own Record for the Fastest Delivery of IPL 2024
Days after clocking 155.8 kph against Punjab Kings, LSG pacer Mayank Yadav bettered his own record for the fastest ball of IPL 2024 at 156.7.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav continues to garner praise from around the world for his ferocious bowling in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The right-arm quick bagged a second consecutive 3-wicket haul in the ongoing tournament, registering the third-best bowling figure this season. Days after clocking 155.8 kph against Punjab Kings, he bettered his own record for the fastest ball of IPL 2024 at 156.7. He’s now only the second Indian pacer, after Umran Malik, and fifth overall to go past 156 clicks in the IPL.

The Delhi pacer opened his account on Tuesday night with the prized wicket of Glenn Maxwell in the Powerplay and then hunted down the likes of Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar, returning 3 for 13 in 4 overs. Out of all his three dismissals, Green’s wicket was the most ruthless which he got with a fiery rocket, closing over 155. Yadav hit the good length as the ball nipped in and Green ended up playing down the wrong line. The ball hit the top of the off stump, beating the outside edge.
