Now, his brother Sabool Rizvi has revealed that the Chennai Super Kings cricketer had vowed to hit a six on the very first delivery of his IPL career. Sabool, who watched the game on TV, shared a video of Rizvi’s brilliant batting on Instagram.

Sameer Rizvi had secured a mind-boggling IPL contract worth Rs 8.4 crore at the auction held in December last year. Coincidentally, it was Gujarat Titans that was involved in a bidding war with Chennai Super Kings to acquire Rizvi’s services. The destructive middle-order batter was sublime in the latest edition of the UPT20, where he notched 455 runs in nine innings. Rizvi, who hails from Meerut, had scored two centuries and hit the most sixes for his side, Kanpur Superstars, in the competition.

GT, during the run chase, kept losing wickets at regular intervals and managed 143 in 20 overs. Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tushar Deshpande each picked up two wickets for CSK.
