Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal And…: Robin Uthappa Names Three Future Superstars
Shubman Gill finished as the leading run scorer in ODIs last year, whereas Jaiswal became only the second Indian player ever to score more than 700 runs in a Test series earlier this year.

Former Indian middle-order batter Robin Uthappa has picked the Indian duo of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, along with a Chennai Super Kings star batter, as three cricketers who can rule the roost in the next 10 years worldwide. Gill has established himself in the Indian team in all three formats of the game and recently led India to a 4-1 win in a T20I series against Zimbabwe.

The 24-year-old right-handed batter played in nine matches of the ODI World Cup 2023 for India and also finished as the leading run scorer in the 50-over format of the game last year. On the other hand, Jaiswal got a chance to play for India after scoring 625 runs in 14 matches of the IPL 2023 for the Rajasthan Royals.

In his debut Test against the West Indies, the left-handed opening batter scored 171 runs. He made his T20I debut during the same tour and then became the youngest batter to score a century in T20Is for India during the Asian Games.

Jaiswal scored more than 700 runs in the Test series against England earlier this year and was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup 2024.

During a rapid-fire round on Cricket.com, Uthappa was asked, “Which three cricketers do you feel can really rule the roost in the next 10 years worldwide?” and in reply, he said, “Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rachin Ravindra.”

Like Jaiswal and Gill, 2023 was a breakthrough year for New Zealand batting all-rounder Rachin Ravindra as well. The 24-year-old left-handed batter scored a century in his ODI World Cup debut match for the Black Caps against England in Ahmedabad on October 5 and then went on to score two more centuries against Australia and Pakistan to help the Kane Williamson-led side finish 4th in the league table and qualify for the semi-finals.

He finished the tournament played entirely in India with 578 runs in 10 matches, and due to his red-hot form in the 50-over megaevent, he earned his maiden IPL contract as well. However, in his first IPL season for CSK, he was unable to do much with the bat and was only able to score 222 runs in 10 matches.
