The Union Public Service Commission has recently announced the results of the UPSC exam 2023. Thousands of students have passed the exam with flying colours. Earlier, we have shared many success stories of candidates who have cracked the toughest exam in the country despite various struggles and obstacles in life. Today, we will talk about one such candidate who cracked the UPSC. The girl shared her story on Instagram.
Oishee Mandal is a resident of West Bengal. According to her post, Oishee graduated with a B.Tech from Hooghly Engineering and Technology College. She then took a break to prepare for the UPSC exam. She mentioned that she grew an interest in pursuing civil service since her college days. Soon after completing her graduation, she decided to start the preparations for the examination with full dedication.
In her first three attempts, the girl from West Bengal failed to crack the mains exam. After her first two attempts, she decided to change her optional subject to Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) from Electrical Engineering. Oishee Mandal further stated that the transition to the subject was not easy but she was able to succeed as she had an interest in the subject. On her fourth attempt, she qualified for the Mains examination for the first time. In that attempt, she cleared the Mains exam and qualified for the interview.
According to the Instagram post, Oishee cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 with an All India Rank of 399. She has reportedly joined the civil services as an Indian Administrative Officer (IAS). Oishi posted a photo with her parents on social media thanking them for their support.
Oishee scored a total marks of 958 in the UPSC examination. She scored 184 in the Prelims examination and 774 in the written Mains examination. In the essay paper for the main exam, she scored 137. She mentioned that she fulfilled her parent’s dream by achieving this milestone.
