NEET MDS 2024: Exam Rescheduled, to be Conducted on March 18

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the exam date of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2024. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted on February 9 but has now been postponed to March 18. Candidates can check the official notice for the exam by visiting the official website of NBEMS at nbe.edu.in.

“Pursuant to the receipt of DCI Letter No. DCI/Admission/Admsn/MDS/ Gen/999/2024-25/2024/6933 dated 08.01.2024 and MoHFW letter No. V.12025/158/2023-DE(Pt) dated 19.01.2024, the conduct of NEET-MDS 2024 examination which was earlier notified to be tentatively held on 9th February 2024, stands rescheduled,” reads the official notice by NBEMS. The NEET-MDS 2024 will now be conducted on March 18, 2024. The cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET-MDS 2024 is March 31, 2024, the notice added.

The NEET MDS is held on a computer-based platform at various test centres across India. The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery is an eligibility-cum-ranking entrance exam for students seeking admission to various dental or MDS programmes.

Candidates who hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from any institute that is registered with the State Dental Council or has either provisional or permanent registration can apply for the exam. Further, a one-year mandatory rotational internship in an approved, recognised dentistry college is required.

NBEMS has also issued the exam calendar for 2024. According to the official notice, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) will be held on March 3, and the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE 2024) December session will be conducted on January 20 while the June session will be conducted on June 30, 2024. The FET exam will be held on February 18 and the NBEMS Diploma Practical Examination December 2023 session will be held in February/March. The DNB/DrNB Final Theory Examinations April 2024 session exam will be conducted on April 24, 25, 26, and 27 while the DNB-Post Diploma CET 2024 will be held on May 19.
