The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has announced the schedule for the Class 10 and 12 On Demand Examination (ODE) 2024. Students who are participating in the exam can download the date sheet from the official website at nios.ac.in. The exam will be conducted from July 16 to September 12.
The admit card will be released on the official website within the stipulated time frame. Students must have their login details ready, such as their registration number and date of birth to download the hall ticket.
As per the official notification, “The ODE Registration and fee submission for the same will be available on the NIOS website www.nios.ac.in & sdmis.nios.ac.in from July 10 including registration for Stream-3 & 4. The Question papers of ODE will be provided based on the New Syllabus only.”
Class 10 subjects include Mathematics, Hindi, Sanskrit, Painting, Science and Technology, English, Social Science, Data Entry Operations, Business Studies, Economics, Home Science, Accountancy, Psychology, Indian Culture and Heritage, Bharatiya Darshan, and Sanskrit Sahitya.
Class 12 subjects include English, Economics, Physics, Business Studies, Mathematics, Political Science, Sanskrit, Geography, Data Entry Operations, History, Biology, Mass Communication, Introduction to Law, Sociology, Library and Information Science, Psychology, Painting, Data Entry Operations, Chemistry and Environmental Science.
NIOS has been developing the concept of ODE at the Secondary Level since 2003. This initiative aims to enhance flexibility in open and distance learning. The core idea behind ODE is that an NIOS student can take the exam whenever they feel prepared and confident. NIOS reintroduced ODE at the Secondary level in 2005. Following its success, NIOS began offering On-Demand Examinations at the Senior Secondary level starting in October 2007.
These exams are currently conducted at NIOS headquarters in Noida and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) centers, covering various subjects at both the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.
