The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the final results of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) of 2023. The exam was conducted to recruit the candidates for the total vacancy of 8,415 seats for the posts in the department. As per the commission, a total of 7,859 applicants have qualified for the examination which will be followed by their document verification. Many candidates apply for this examination but some only succeed. It requires years of preparation and dedication. Passing with flying colours in both these departments, Saurabh Kumar from Purnia City in Bihar has secured the AIR 1 SSC CGL 2023. It was his last and final attempt. Despite all the financial problems at home and failures in exams, Saurabh Kumar was not ready to give up on his goal of a government job. He has joined the Ministry of Statistics Department in the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO).
While talking to Local18, Saurabh Kumar said that his father is an ordinary farmer and belongs to a middle-class family. He joined the coaching institute as a teacher along with his studies to bring some money home. Saurabh Kumar has four siblings. Due to a weak financial situation at home, Saurabh Kumar faced a lot of problems. “ I had become quite dejected after seeing the age limit for government jobs passing and facing repeated failures,” said Saurabh Kumar. He shared that it has always been his mother’s dream to watch him as a government officer. It motivated him to move forward and prepare for the exam despite failing numerous times.
After looking back at his failures, Saurabh Kumar realised that he was unable to study properly due to his job at the coaching institute. He left the job and started preparing for the government examinations. To cover the expenses, he took out a loan from his uncle and relatives. After numerous failures, he clinched the first position at the SSC CGL 2023. He has given the credit for this success to his parents and guru Anand Kumar Mishra. He also shared his success mantra with the upcoming aspirants and said that they should work hard towards their goals and should not treat poverty as a roadblock to their success.
