London: David Bentley, Florent Malouda and William Gallas are among the players to have been released by Premier League clubs.
The trio head a list of 165 who have retired or been let go as managers look to freshen up their squads before the new season.
Bentley joined Tottenham in 2008 but struggled to justify his 15-million pound price tag and was sent out on loan to Birmingham, West Ham, FC Rostov and former club Blackburn.
Malouda enjoyed a more successful time at Chelsea, where he scored 35 goals after arriving in 2007, but he has found first-team opportunities limited in recent seasons.
Chelsea was Gallas' first Premier League team when he joined in 2001 before the defender later moved across London to join Arsenal and most recently, Tottenham.
