Leading sports entertainment brand EA Sports have predicted that Germany will win the World Cup this summer in Brazil. The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil game simulated each of the 32 countries fixtures to see how they would fare during the tournament - which is now just five days away from the kick off.
And it was Joachim Low's men who triumphed, becoming the first European nation to win in South America, defeating host nation Brazil 2-1 in the final. The prediction also saw England progressing out of the group of death, before beating Colombia in the Round of 16 on penalties.
After beating the 2010 winners, Spain in a shootout in the last four, Germany went on to claim their fourth World Cup trophy. EA points out that four years ago, the company "accurately predicted that Spain would prevail as the tournament champions." At that time, Spain was considered a hot favorite to win the World Cup.
The company's other predictions include Neymar of Brazil winning the Golden Boot (most goals scored) with six goals and Spain's Andres Iniesta scoring the tournament's best goal, versus England in the quarters.
