'I Won The Treble...I Don't Think He Knows The Feeling': Erling Haaland Claps Back at Alexander-Arnold's Comments
Trent's comments did not go unnoticed, especially by Manchester City's premier striker Erling Haaland spoke out about the Liverpool defender's statements and retorted with a calm and simple reply.

Is success not the same for all? Well, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold certainly thinks not, as the defender recently spoke out about how the trophies the Reds have clinched ‘mean more’ than rivals Manchester City’s unparalleled success.

Under the guidance of one brilliant Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have transformed themselves into a superpower in world football yet again. It was Klopp who led them to their first Champions League since the famous night at Istanbul back in 2005, and more importantly, their first-ever Premier League title in club history.

There is no downplaying Liverpool’s dominance during the past almost decade since Klopp took the reigns. 9 trophies in a 9-year span speaks for itself. But then again, unfortunately for them, yet another superpower in world football rose with them: Manchester City.

Manchester City have established themselves as undoubtedly the best club in England over the past decade, clinching 6 of the last 10 Premier League titles, and under Guardiola, achieved what was once perceived as impossible: win the Champions League and clinch the treble.

Yet, Trent remains stern in his stance that the trophies that Liverpool have accumulated over the years will hold more significance in the long run.

“It’s tough. We’re up against a machine that’s built to win — that’s the simplest way to describe City and their organisation,” Alexander-Arnold told FourFourTwo magazine.

“Looking back on this era, although they’ve won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially.

“How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it, probably means more to our fans.”

Trent’s comments did not go unnoticed, especially by Manchester City’s premier striker Erling Haaland spoke out about the Liverpool defender’s statements and retorted with a calm and simple reply.

“I’ve been here one year and won the treble and it was quite a nice feeling,” Haaland told Sky Sports when asked about Alexander-Arnold’s comments.

“I don’t think he knows this feeling, so that’s what I felt last season and it was quite nice.”

How could one argue with that? Haaland has been nothing short of a revelation in world football, as the young Norwegian came into the Premier League last season and wreaked havoc, demolishing the ling-standing record of most goals scored in a single campaign with 36 goals in 35 appearances, and continues to do so as he leads the goal-scoring charts this season as well with 18 goals in 22 appearances.

With both clubs separated by one point, as Liverpool currently holding the upper hand, one can expect tensions to flare as Manchester City takes on Liverpool in the Premier League this coming weekend, in the battle for the top spot.
