New Delhi: Luis Figo would like to see Lionel Messi desert Barcelona to sign for Inter.
The Portuguese winger, who left Camp Nou for Real Madrid in 2000, thinks that the current Blaugrana hero is the best in the world and would thrive in Serie A.
Messi has just penned a new long-term deal with Barca and has reiterated the debt he feels he owes the club, but Figo would like to see him leave and join Jose Mourinho's side.
"Lionel is the best of all, and this is unquestionable," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"His team play is now stronger than last year. My dream is to see Messi playing for Inter."
Figo then revealed that Inter do not miss Zlatan Ibrahimovic because Samuel Eto'o has excelled since joining the club in the summer.
"Inter no longer depends on Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I really like Samuel Eto'o," Figo stated. "I know Eto'o from when we were at Real Madrid.
"We had three fantastic years with Zlatan, and he gave a lot to Inter. But when he was there Inter relied on him and now that is not the case."
