Mancini still wants Carlos Tevez to stay
The 27-year-old wanted to make a move away from the club.

Manchester: Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has maintained that no club wants to sign Carlos Tevez at the moment, and would be happy if the Argentine remained at Eastlands.

The 27-year-old wanted to make a move away from the club to be closer to his family, but a potential deal with Corinthians did not reach fruition before the closing of the Brazilian transfer window.

The former West Ham United man has since been linked with moves to Italy and Spain, but remains a City player as things stand.

"Carlos is here and there isn't a team that wants to take him. I'm happy if he stays," Mancini said, according to The Mirror.

The Italian boss has already admitted that the forward remains a doubt for the opening fixture against Swansea City.

However, the former Inter coach did confirm that summer signing Sergio Aguero has regained enough fitness to last one half of a game.

"Aguero is not ready to play 90 minutes," Mancini said. "Sergio is getting better but he’s not ready to play a full game. Maybe he can play 40 minutes or 45 minutes. The season is long and it’s important for him to find his fitness."
