Manchester City outcast Joao Cancelo could be making his way back to Serie A after finding himself surplus to Pep Guardiola’s requirements. Widely regarded as one of the best players in his position, Cancelo has earned a reputation for being a dynamic full-back in recent years.
Despite the individual flare, Manchester City seemingly no longer have a place for the Portuguese international. This led to Cancelo spending the last couple of seasons at Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

It has now been reported by La Stampa via IlBianconero that Cancelo’s agent Jorge Mendes has been offering the player’s services to old employers Inter Milan and Juventus.
Joao Cancelo’s signing at Barcelona seems like a far fetch, given the Blaugrana’s financial situation. With his loan contract expiring, it may not be possible for Bayern Munich to retain his services. Hence, the Portuguese full-back will now have to look for a new club this summer. Juventus could prove to be the right decision for Cancelo amid the transfer tussle. He previously spent the 2017/18 season with Nerazzurri on loan from Valencia. His move to Turin was later made permanent. He featured in 29 games for the side, netting one goal and providing four assists. After spending a single campaign, Cancelo headed to Manchester City.
Inter Milan are also reportedly aiming to sign Joao Cancelo due to an injury issue at the club. Tajon Buchanan recently underwent surgery as he continues to recover from a fractured tibia. Cancelo has been identified as a suitable replacement for the Canadian footballer at the club.

Joao Cancelo proved to be a key player for Manchester City. Right after his move to Barcelona, there were claims that Cancelo was unhappy with his teammates Rico Lewis and Nathan Ake. The reason behind the discontentment was Lewis and Ake getting more time than the star full-back. But the Portuguese international had rubbished these claims following his move back to Spain.
As for Joao Cancelo’s transfer, Manchester City will reportedly be hearing offers starting from €25 million. Apart from his price tag, the Portuguese full-back’s wages could also prove to be a major setback in his signing. At the same time, Cancelo has reportedly expressed his desire to reduce his wages to push a move back to Italy.
