At 24, his transfer at 80 mn pounds is the most expensive in football's history.

Liverpool: Footballer Christiano Ronaldo has made a world record going from Manchester United to Real Madrid for a whopping 80 million pounds.

This bid comes just days after the Spanish giants signed Brazilian Kaka from AC Milan for the then record sum of 56 million pounds

At 24, his transfer at 80 million pounds is the most expensive in football's history.

So finally, the Portugese international gets to play for the club he has supported since a child.

So every transfer in football history pales in comparison to the almost unbelievable amount Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro now commands.

It puts Brazillian forward Kaka at number 2 who was bought by the Galacticos for a staggering 56 million pounds earlier this week.

It’s another Real Madrid legend who's on that chart, the great Zinedine Zidane cost Madrid 45.6 million pounds for his move from Juventus in 2001.

Another Galactico Luis Figo fetched Barcelona 37 million pounds when he moved to Real in 2000.

Argentinian Striker Hernan Crespo cost Lazio a little over 35 million while moving from Parma

And Real earned over 32 million pounds when Robinho hopped to Manchester City.

It is now certain that a second era of "Galacticos" has begun at Madrid led again by their megalomaniac president Fiorentino Perez - playing a game of high-stakes poker to assemble the most expensive players in the world under one roof.

Brazilian Kaka said, “I think it's a new experience for me. Like I said, I'm 27 and I achieved everything I could achieve as a player. So, I think this is important to me, have this motivation, achieve new things. I'm going to a place where I will arrive as one of the best players in the world, but, in fact, I haven't achieved anything. This is a great motivation to me!"

In the pipeline to complete Madrid's fantasy set, Spanish Striker David Villa, sensational winger Frank Ribery from Bayern Munich and midfield maestro Xabi Alonso from Liverpool.
