Sao Paulo: Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez says Luis Suarez could struggle to recapture his free-scoring form from last season with Liverpool at the World Cup as he recovers from injury.
Although Suarez said earlier this week he has fully recovered from an operation on his left knee, Tabarez wouldn't say if the striker would start against England on Thursday.
Tabarez said Wednesday through a translator that if Suarez plays "we must consider the possibility that he is not as well as he was during the Premier League season."
Suarez spearheaded Liverpool's unlikely title challenge, scoring 31 goals as the team finished second.
On Thursday, both sides will look to recover from a losing start in Group D, with Uruguay surprisingly beaten 3-1 by Costa Rica and England going down 2-1 to Italy.
