Veggie Grilled Cheese
A toasty grilled cheese, packed with grilled vegetables. There’s nothing more comforting and nostalgic than grilled cheese, but did you know you can make it even more flavorful? For an updated version of the childhood classic, add grilled onions, peppers, and jalapenos to your sandwich for additional taste and texture. Peppers and jalapenos cost an additional $0.80 each, but adding grilled onions is free.
Veggie Burger
A vegetarian-friendly burger that’s still bursting with flavor. Unlike other fast food chains that simply remove their beef patty, Whataburger replaces theirs with crunchy hash brown sticks. The hash browns make the veggie burger feel like a filling breakfast burger, but you can order it any time of day. You can also customize your burger with whatever toppings you like. Bread substitutions and most add-on toppings (like tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, diced onions, and grilled onions) are free of charge, while extra cheese is an additional $0.95.
Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich
The Chicken Strip Sandwich drizzled with sweet and smoky BBQ sauce. Barbeque lovers, listen up! This fan-favorite features crispy chicken strips, melty Monterey jack cheese and honey barbeque sauce—sandwiched between 2 slices of buttery Texas toast. The butteriness of the toast is a delicious contrast to the zesty sauce, making the sandwich even more dreamy and delicious. If your location runs out of BBQ sauce, ask your cashier what other seasonal sauces they offer and create your own custom chicken strip sandwich with your preferred sauce.
Ranchero BOB
A spicy take on the standard Breakfast on a Bun. While the usual BOB is delicious on its own, the “Ranchero” version is even more flavorful. This off-menu item includes your choice of sausage or bacon, American or Monterey jack cheese, and scrambled eggs—cooked with jalapenos and picante sauce. It definitely has a kick, so keep milk nearby if you can’t handle spice. Adding jalapenos and picante sauce to the regular BOB costs an additional $0.80 each. Whataburger’s breakfast menu items, including the BOB, are only available between 11 PM and 11 AM.
Chicken & Pancakes
Crispy chicken strips and fluffy pancakes are a match made in heaven. Move over, chicken and waffles…this off-menu item is (arguably) the tastiest combination on the Whataburger menu. The juicy chicken strips pair perfectly with a syrup-drenched stack of pancakes, making this a hearty meal for the morning or after hours. To try this off-menu item, order the pancake platter and a honey butter chicken biscuit. Deconstruct the biscuit and place the chicken strips on top of your pancakes, then drizzle as much syrup as you like.
The “Double-Double”
Add an extra beef patty for even more protein. Although In-N-Out has trademarked the “Double-Double,” you can request a similar protein-packed item at Whataburger. This off-menu item is essentially 2 beef patties on any burger you like. Feel free to add extra toppings to match up to the amount of meat, then get ready to chow down on a hearty and filling meal. You can order this off-menu item by name, but if your cashier isn’t familiar with it, just ask for an extra beef patty on any burger on their regular menu—adding one more patty is free of charge.
The “Triple-Triple”
Two extra beef patties to fulfill any protein-lover’s dream. If you thought adding one extra beef patty wasn’t enough, this off-menu item might fulfill your wildest food fantasies. You can simply ask your cashier for the “Triple-Triple” by name, but if they’re not sure what you’re talking about, just ask them to add 2 more patties on any burger on the menu. Adding 2 extra beef patties costs an additional $3.49.
Bunless Bacon & Cheese Burger
Your usual bacon cheeseburger, without the bun. If you’re on a keto or gluten-free diet, order a “protein-style” burger that just includes the patty and toppings. The bunless Bacon & Cheese Burger comes with utensils for a mess-free eating experience, but you can ask for a side of lettuce if you want to wrap everything up.
The Hulk
A fruity and refreshing drink to give you a quick boost of energy. If you're feeling a little tired, this sweet, bubbly beverage is guaranteed to wake you up. Once you receive your cup from the cashier, head over to the soda fountain machine and fill it ¼ of the way with Powerade. Top it off with Vault, a carbonated lime green energy drink, then get ready to take on the rest of your day! You can simply order this off-menu drink by name if you're ordering online or in the drive thru.
The Longhorn
A classic vanilla milkshake mixed with orange Fanta. With flavors reminiscent of a melted orange dreamsicle, the Longhorn is the perfect treat to cool you down on a hot day. Just order a vanilla shake, then ask the cashier to leave a little space at the top of your cup so you can swirl in some Fanta. Once you get your shake, add as much orange soda as you like for a creamy, fruity taste. If you're ordering in the drive-thru, just order a vanilla milkshake with a splash of orange Fanta.
Apple Pie Milkshake
A decadent drink made with apple pie and vanilla ice cream. If you’re a fan of pie à la mode, Whataburger’s apple pie milkshake might be your dream come true! It’s a dreamy blend of their hot apple pie and a vanilla shake, but you can also create a sweeter concoction by subbing the vanilla shake for a vanilla malt instead. To try this secret-menu drink, ask the staff to blend a hot apple pie dessert into a vanilla milkshake. If that’s not possible at your location, you can always buy a pie and milkshake separately, then break up the pie and stir it into your shake with a spoon.
