12 Killed, 14 Injured As Bus Catches Fire After Collision With Truck In MP’s Guna
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed grief and announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.

At least 12 passengers were killed and 14 others received severe injuries after the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck and caught fire on the Guna-Aron route in Madhya Pradesh. The accident took place at around 9 pm on Wednesday night. The injured were immediately rushed to the Guna district hospital for treatment.

“A bus and a dumper collided in Guna. The bus overturned and caught fire. The fire has been brought under control,” Superintendent of Police (Guna), Vijay Kumar Khatri, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

There were around 30 passengers in the bus at the time of the incident, informed Guna SP. He further said that four of the passengers somehow managed to come out of the bus safely and have gone home.

Meanwhile, Guna District Collector Tarun Rathi said that the priority is to recover the bodies and treatment of the injured.

MP CM Expresses Grief

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed grief and announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased. Rs 50,000 each has been announced for the injured. The Chief Minister has also ordered a probe into the accident.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also condoled the demise of the passengers and termed the incident “painful”. “Soon after getting information about the incident, I spoke to the collector and SP and directed them to start a relief and rescue operation,” Scindia added.
