A 37-year-old man from Nashik died of swine flu at a private hospital in Indore.
The man, who had arrived here on a personal visit to his in-laws' home, was diagnosed with suffering from swine flu on June 12, Government Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) head Dr GL Sodhi said. He died on Tuesday in a private hospital, Sodhi said.
The victim had arrived in Indore on June 5 and was admitted in a missionary-run hospital following complaints of severe cold, cough and fever, he said.
When his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to CHL Apollo hospital on June 10. The hospital authorities informed the health department and his samples were sent for testing, he said.
This is the first case of swine flu in the city (since January) this year, Sodhi said.
