BHUBANESWAR: Around 41 students were booked for malpractice during Plus Two examinations, conducted by the Council for Higher Secondary Education, on Thursday. Mathematics for the Arts and Science streams was on. The number of students being booked for malpractice has gone down considerably with an intense crackdown by the CHSE not only on the students but also on teachers, invigilators and squad members.On Wednesday, one of the squad members was caught at Dayavihar College of Puri district for demanding bribe from the examination centre officials. He allegedly threatened them with cancellation of the examination centre from the school if they did not meet his demand.The Higher Education Director, Bimal Prasad Nanda, has issued a notice for initiation of proceedings against the squad member for demanding bribe.In a similar incident, five teachers were found helping students of their centre. In one such incident, a teacher was caught dictating answers to a student.Out of the five other cases, four belonged to Korua Women’s College and one to Chitrotpala Women’s College in Kendrapara. Nanda has also initiated proceedings for suspension of these six teachers.
