BANGALORE: The Director General of Police for Fire and Emergency Services, A R Infant, on Friday, moved the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) questioning the appointment of Shankar M Bidari as the DG & IGP of the state by overlooking his seniority and merit.Infant, who is an IPS officer of the 1977 batch, filed a petition before CAT claiming that as per law he should have been made the DG & IGP. “Legitimately, the government should have appointed me to the state’s police chief post. But injustice has been done to me by overlooking my seniority and merit,” Infant claimed in the petition to CAT.Bidari, a 1978 batch IPS officer, had taken charge as the new DG & IGP of the state on November 30 evening succeeding N Achuta Rao.
