"C"elebrity endorsement has always proved what celebs can do for a product but this time the C factor showed something else.....what celebs can really do if they want, what celebs should not do even if they want to do and what can be done to them even if they have not done anything.
Aamir Khan. I don't know much about him. And how can I, when he thinks media has become one of the most corrupted institutions, it has become a lapdog, monster and what not. Few days back Mr Khan was very angry when he was talking to tv reporters recently and all beacuse news channel dont know what to report and they use background music in news. I tried to tell him a bit about how the news has changed over the years and why background music is used in news. But Mr Khan's reply was simple.....asked me to watch BBC for a week.Go to a journalism school. And discuss with Rajdeep to find out what is news. I told him I have done everything. And now my only fear is I will never get a job if Mr Khan decides to bring some honesty into media by having his own news channel.
Whatever is the height of Narmada dam, whatever Mr Khan knows about the issue or doesn't know, whatever is the focus now - Narmada or Aamir Khan, I think atleast Aamir Khan's presence has given some more importance to NBA through the media. And now let Mr Khan face his inner conscience regarding other issues also like the coke controversy.
By the way, the little culprit in me wants to know why Mr Khan is inviting all the corrupted newspapers and channels now and why is he talking to them. I think he watches only Doordarshan.(I dont know his house secrets. He only said all these things. in an interview given to Tehelka) Anyway, good going Mr Khan.
Salman Khan. Someone who indulges in good, bad or ugly but will always make your news stories more interesting. Unlike many, I don't know if he is really "dil ka accha hai" or not. But in an industry where even good friends abuse about each other at their back someone has to be really "accha" that everyone likes him. His only problem....he thinks he is HERO in real life too. He wants to show his HEROgiri to everyone. But if I really care about black bucks, I would like to see Salman doing thousand commercials talking about black bucks. When he wants to make better toilets in Jodhpur, I would also like to see him giving out more money for wildlife conservation. My PR(public relations)roommate thinks his PR skills are really bad. I think he doesn't care about being "politically correct". But this time when he came back to Mumbai after spending few days in jail, it was bit different Salman. Someone who gave looong long interviews to every channel and someone who has calmed down a bit. May be Salman has started thinking like my room mate.
John Abraham. John's only fault was that he always confessed his honest love for high speed bikes. So, when he met with an accident the tv channels decided the culprit has to be John. He must be riding bike on high speed without following any rules and a cyclist cant cause an accident! So, what if hundred such accidents happen everyday. It was sexy John and his sexier bike that can attract the eyballs. Everyone realised later on that he was not at fault and he only took the two cyclists to hospital before getting himself admitted.
The little that I know about John, I have always felt that he is a nice guy. Someone who thinks about his fans seriously and someone who is down to earth. My PR room mate and I have fought lot many times while talking about John. He thinks John is simply smart and has good PR skills. I think my room mate views everything through his PR prism. But having said all these things let me confess also that I am not at all a fan of his movies and I didn't like his Dhoom either.
Celebrities do pay a price sometimes. And sometimes they get more than the price they deserve. So, its better to be actor onscreen and hero offscreen. But don't show your herogiri. Otherwise the corrupt media (according to Mr Aamir Khan) will make you more corrupted. It may be a matter of only A or E but the difference between REAL and REEL is huge. So, ACTORS think twice before you want to do something and HEROES be careful when you do it.

Aamir,Salman & John....no, they have not been cast together in any of the blockbusters so far. But they are really doing something what no one has done before. Never have so many bollywood actors made so much news in just few days and that too without talking about their films. All making headlines and all because of the C factor.
