Aarushi-Hemraj murder: Talwars 'hurt, anguished' over their conviction
In a statement, the Talwar couple said, "We refuse to be defeated and will continue to fight for justice."

New Delhi: Convicted for the murders of their daughter Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj, parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar said they were hurt and anguished with the verdict. They said they will continue to fight for justice.

Right after the court pronounced the couple guilty, the Talwars issued a statement saying, "The Talwars have issued a statement saying, "We are deeply hurt and anguished over the crime we have not committed, we refuse to be defeated and will continue to fight for justice."

Their lawyer Rebecca John has said that the couple will appeal against the verdict in the Allahabad High Court. This came after Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were found guilty for the murders of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj by a CBI special court at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The Talwars were convicted by the court of special judge Shyam Lal on Monday afternoon in the almost five-and-a-half-year old sensational double murder case.

The duo was convicted for the murders as well as for destruction of evidence among other offences. Both of them were taken into custody after the verdict and sent to Dasna jail.

Rajesh Talwar also convicted for filing a wrong FIR with Noida police. While he has been convicted under the Indian Penal Code Sections 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender), 203 (giving false information in respect to an offence committed), 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) his wife Nupur has been found guilty under Sections 201, 302 and 34.
