HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old girl who was reported missing on Monday was found in Mumbai on Wednesday. N Jyothi Bai, a resident of Prakash Nagar, was abducted by her neighbour Sitaram Naik (34) and taken to Mumbai. According to police, Jyothi came to her grandmother’s place in Kodangal for summer vacation where Naik befriended her. She went to play at his house on Monday and went missing. The girl’s mother Lakshmi searched for her throughout the day and filed a complaint later with Begumpet police. While investigating, police found that Naik also had gone missing from his house and that he had called from a Mumbai landline number. They alerted the Mumbai police who rescued Jyothi from Naik’s sister’s place. However, Naik fled from there. Police suspect Naik might have abducted her for ransom or for flesh trade.
