CHENNAI: Sri Gujarathi Swetamber Jain Association on Sunday conducted a function to commemorate the 304th birth anniversary of Acharya Sri Jayamali Maharaj. The function also honoured Jai Brij Ji who had been fasting for the past 111 days for spiritual reasons. Speaking at the prayer meeting Ma Satiji, one of the swamis, said, "This is the first time we are coming to the South. There is no difference between South and North Indians.”Speaking on gurukripa, Satiji said that only those with true eligibility will get gurukripa. Speaking later, Ma Priya Lataji praised the efforts of Jai Maharaj to have fasted for 111 days. "Even if we miss a tea, we keep thinking of food due to hunger and lust. But Maharaj has been able to sacrifice everything for 111days for spiritual reasons," she said. A large number of jains gathered to be present at the event.
