The DGCA has suspended two pilots each from Air India (AI) and Jet Airways for failing post-flight alcohol test - held recently - on arrival of their overseas flights in India.
New Delhi: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended two pilots each from Air India (AI) and Jet Airways for failing post-flight alcohol test - held recently - on arrival of their overseas flights in India.
Sources said the pilots have been suspended for four years while one cabin crew of Air India has also been suspended for 1 year. All of them were found drunk on arrival from overseas flights in India.
Meanwhile, the DGCA on Friday has issued order to Air India and Jet Airways to file FIRs against the erring staff within next one week.
Considering the seriousness of the violations, the aviation regulator has written to the senior officials of Jet Airways and Air India to register FIRs against the pilots concerned.
