New Delhi: Two days after a chilling revelation of possible human bombers among the followers of controversial religious sect Dera Sacha Sauda, a Punjab court on Sunday issued arrest warrants against three of the five suspect women disciples whose sketches were released by Punjab police.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Bhajan Ram issued warrants against Veerpal Kaur, Gurcharan Kaur and Rama Devi on the basis of circumstantial evidence to Deputy Suprintendent of Police (Detective) Surinder Pal Singh, who is in charge of the case.

However, he refused to issue warrants against the other two - Usha Rani and Kuldeep Kaur.

"These are sadhvis of the Dera who are likely to cause harm to some VIPs of the state," Additional Director-General of Police (law and order) Chandrashekhar had been quoted as saying by news agency PTI on Friday.

The DSP said efforts were on to track down the three women, all hailing from Bhatinda district and said to be ardent followers of Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Meanwhile, a follower Ram Rahim Singh, Gurjeet Singh, immolated himself outside a gurudwara in a village near Bhatinda on Sunday. Twenty-four-year-old Singh poured petrol over his body and set himself ablaze, police said.

He died instantly. The youth took the extreme step as he was apparently perturbed over certain remarks made by his uncle against the Dera chief.
