CHENNAI: The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the Women’s Christian College, on Sunday, organised a rally on the Marina beach to drive home the importance of Water and Waste Management. Around 400 students of the college participated in the rally, which was part of the college’s Environment Week programme. Students said that the topic was chosen to create awareness on the need to conserve water. They said that with the depletion of fresh water resources across the world, the importance of water management had to be stressed from various spheres and colleges have an important role to play in this regard. On the other hand, proper waste management would aid the work of conserving water resources, the pollution of which had become a big debating point now, they said. The rally, sponsored by the Lions Club, was flagged off from the Gandhi statue by Director Pandiraj.
