Ayodhya Dispute: Amarnath Mishra Sacked for Making ‘Irresponsible Remarks’ Against Salman Nadwi
The national general secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Nyas, Amarnath Mishra, had alleged that the expelled AIMPLB member demanded Rs 5,000 crore, 200 acres of land and a Rajya Sabha seat for helping in out of-court settlement in Ayodhya dispute. However, Salman Nadwi had denied allegations.

Lucknow: Amarnath Mishra, the national general secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Nyas, has been expelled from the organisation for making “irresponsible remarks” against AIMPLB ousted member Maulana Salman Nadwi.

Mishra had alleged that the expelled board member demanded Rs 5,000 crore, 200 acres of land and a Rajya Sabha seat for helping in the out of-court settlement in Ayodhya dispute. However, Nadwi had denied allegations.

In a temporary relief to the sacked executive committee member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, the head of the Ram Janmabhoomi organisation has taken strong exception to Mishra’s allegations.

“Amarnath Mishra was a part of our organisation but his irresponsible comments and allegations against the maulana compelled us to expel him. If he wants to make such statements, he should do it in personal capacity, and not ruin the organisation’s mission and name. We have nothing to do with any of the allegations he has made,” Mahant Janmay Jay Sharan, head of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Nyas said after issuing the expulsion letter on Friday.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Mishra has been expelled. In November 2017, an emergency meeting was called by the Nyas to expel him.

“At that time too he had made totally irrelevant and uncalled for statements that were against the Nyas’s efforts towards peaceful settlement. After apologizing, his expulsion was taken back but with a warning. This time the water has risen above our heads and we will not change our decision,” said Sharan.

Reacting on his sacking, the ousted general secretary said, “This expulsion does not matter to me anymore and it will not stop me from peacefully working towards the construction of Ram temple. I am part of many such organisations. My expulsion only means that both Sri Sri and Nadwi are up to some deal in the Ayodhya issue and I am not up for any form of dealing.”

Recently, a video of Nadwi crying in front of his students at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama had gone viral, where he was sobbing and calling out to the Almighty to “deal with those meting out injustice to him”. After Mishra’s expulsion, Nadwi could exhale a sign of relief.

Meanwhile, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has also made clear that Amarnath Mishra is not a part of Art of Living and does not represent Sri Sri in any capacity.

“It is unfortunate that vested interests are trying to discredit and sabotage initiatives in the direction of an amicable settlement in Ayodhya dispute. There can be no settlement through deals or force, but only with amity,” Sri Sri said on Friday.
