Balangir cops seize foreign currency

BALANGIR: A special squad of Balangir police on Friday raided a house in Titlagarh town, 70 km from here, and seized huge amount of foreign currency of Nepal and Thailand.
On a tip off, the police team led by Inspector Ranjan Patnaik stumbled upon the house in the afternoon. The house owner allegedly tried to hide about ` 80,000 in the courtyard of the house which has been seized.Police have detained the house owner and interrogation is on. The man is also suspected to be involved in a major fraud as he was found possessing many ATM cards. "We are looking into his antecedents as well as his business ventures," said Balangir SP Awinash Kumar.
