Bangalore: Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra and former All England Badminton Champion Pullela Gopichand among others will share their experiences with aspiring Olympians at a first-of-its-kind athletes' conclave organised by GoSports Foundation here on July 17.

The GoSports Foundation Athletes' Conclave is aimed at creating an interactive platform, providing a unique opportunity for aspiring young athletes to interact with each other, while enriching their game through sessions by top Indian athletes, Managing Trustee, Nandan Kamath said on Monday.

Aiming to provide a platform that enables interaction, information and inspiration, the conclave will play host to top junior and elite Indian athletes across multiple sporting disciplines who will be in attendance, he said.

The programme will feature lectures and seminars from some of India's leading experts in the fields of sports, journalism, law and sports sciences, Kamath added.

Speakers include Olympic Gold Medalist Bindra, former All-England Champion Gopichand and senior sports journalist Sharda Ugra, amongst other notable personalities, he said.

The topics that will be covered range from an athlete's mental preparation for a match to communication skills required to deal with journalists - almost everything a young athlete needs to know, kamath said.

Speaking at the occasion, Bindra said, "This conclave is a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas amongst our nation's athletes. My own Olympic journey has been extremely challenging and deeply fulfilling at the same time. I look forward to having an opportunity to share this journey and what I have learnt from it with the new crop of Indian sporting talent."

Gopichand said, "Representing your country in your chosen sport is a rare honour, and only a few athletes get this opportunity. Even fewer get to experience the joy of winning an Olympic medal.

"Achieving glory takes a lot of hard work, unending passion for your sport, and unshakable commitment. At the conclave, I hope my insights can inspire the young athletes in attendance to go out there and be the best version of themselves at all times."
