BANGALORE: Opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and BJP’s Karnataka in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan are likely to come to Bangalore on Friday evening to hold talks with the warring factions in the state BJP and find out an amicable solution. As the news of Jaitley’s expected visit trickled in, the factions headed by former CM B S Yeddyurappa and his successor D V Sadananda Gowda engaged in “strategic” meetings throughout Thursday. Jaitley and Pradhan are also likely to elicit the views of the MLAs on Yeddyurappa’s demand to change the CM. Meanwhile, efforts are being made by both the camps to woo RDPR Minister Jagadish Shettar, the Lingayat face of the party in Karnataka after Yeddyurappa, to their fold. While Yeddyurappa camp feels that the presence of Shettar in their side would force the party high command to consider their demand for leadership change, the Gowda camp believes that Yeddyurappa camp minus Shettar would not have any impact. Meanwhile, ministers in Yeddyurappa camp like Umesh Katti, M P Renukacharya and V Somanna called on Shettar and sought his support. Earlier, Eshwarappa too had talks with Shettar. In the evening, Gowda and Eshwarappa held another round of meeting with ministers and MLAs at the party office and discussed the issues to be raised before Jaitley and Pradhan ‘MAKE JAGADISH SHETTAR DEPUTY CM’BANGALORE: Municipal Administration Minister Balachandra Jarkiholi has said Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Jagadish Shettar should be made deputy chief minister. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Jarakiholi, who is identified with the anti-Yeddyurappa group, said if Shettar was made the deputy CM then all problems within the state BJP would be solved. He said he and his followers had already apprised the party leaders of the necessity of the move. He added that state BJP president K S Eshwarappa was likely to discuss this issue with senior party leader Arun Jaitley during his visit to Bangalore on Friday.
