BJP slams Nitish for casting aspersions on Governor in Patna
"Governor K N Tripathi is a legal expert and had been Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly five times so Nitish Kumar shall make a public apology for casting aspersion on him," said the BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi.

Patna: Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday said that JDU leader Nitish Kumar must apologise for making humiliating comments on Governor KN Tripathi.

"Governor KN Tripathi is a legal expert and had been Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly five times so Nitish Kumar shall make a public apology for casting aspersion on him," said the BJP leader.

"In a hurry to get the Chief Minister chair, Kumar is making humiliating comments on Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and forcing the Speaker of state Assembly Uday Narayan Chaudhary to make unconstitutional decisions," Modi said.

He alleged that Nitish Kumar after meeting the Governor on February 9 had claimed majority and started "threatening him to convene a sitting of Assembly within 24 hours."

And when his wish was not fulfilled he started making "uncharitable" statements against a person sitting on high constitutional chair. "He is in a hurry to become CM by trampling constitutional tradition and practises," he said and defended the Governor saying he did no wrong by calling for trust vote on opening day of the budget session on February 20.

"If Kumar is sure about his majority why does not he want to wait for seven days?" he asked and alleged that Kumar put pressure on Speaker to get membership of eight of his own JD(U) terminated so that it could be easy to muster majority number.

The Patna High Court has restored membership of four of them, but the Assembly Speaker has not issued notification in this regard, he said.
